Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. This policy outlines what information Quiztionz collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive a unique identifier that we immediately hash and store so that we can recognise your Quiztionz profile without retaining your Google account details. During secure operations—such as automated question generation—we temporarily keep a salted hash of your IP address to prevent abuse. We also store the quiz responses, progress, and feedback you share while using the platform. We do not store your name or email address.
How We Use Your Information
We process your data to deliver quizzes, calculate scores, display leaderboards, and provide lecturers with aggregated analytics that help improve teaching outcomes. The hashed identifiers help us protect the platform from misuse while keeping your profile consistent across sessions. We may use anonymized insights to enhance the question bank and optimise the learning experience. We may also use anonymised question data for academic or commercial research
Legal Basis for Processing
Insofar as any of the information described above may be considered personal data, we process it under GDPR Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests). These limited data are required to safeguard the site, ensure continuity of your profile, and deliver core quiz functionality.
Cookies and Tracking
Quiztionz relies on essential cookies to maintain secure sessions and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising trackers or sell your personal information.
Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your profile remains active or as needed to support academic reporting obligations. Hashed IP addresses captured for security purposes are cleared once the relevant job completes. You can trigger immediate, automated deletion from your profile menu—visit the Delete Account page, confirm your display name, and we will remove the account alongside your quiz history, leaderboard entries, flagged questions, queued jobs, and owned collections.
Your Choices and Rights
You can update your leaderboard consent settings from your profile. If you choose to erase your data, sign in and launch the self-service deletion flow—it requires you to confirm your display name and immediately signs you out so that nobody else can initiate the process on your behalf. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, rectify, or erase your personal data. Please reach out to us if you need assistance beyond the automated tools.
